Treasury
Treasury Fundamentals
The treasury is crucial to the longevity of the Koinos Garden DAO, as it contains the financial fuel for the organisation's continued growth and development. To increase its value, it must be structured to endure over an infinite time horizon, and adapt quickly to changing market trends.
For a treasury to thrive, proceeds must exceed expenses. The DAO is responsible for managing the financial health of the protocol. It focuses on preserving capital and employing investment strategies that provide a steady and sustainable stream of proceeds.
Treasury control also implies optimum risk management. Treasury capital will remain diversified across different asset classes and investment opportunities, mitigating risks and optimizing returns.
All treasury decisions are made through our governance protocol, ensuring a fair process. DAO members have the opportunity to propose and vote on any investment strategy or mechanism.
Treasury Council
To facilitate decentralisation in a responsible way, the Koinos Garden team has decided to establish a Treasury Council. The council is in charge of guarding the treasury and ensuring the smooth running of the protocol. It must consist of at least 5 members, 2 members of the Koinos Garden team and 3 members of the community, who are elected by vote. The capital is guarded by a multi-sig 3 out of 5 wallet.
Council signatories simply act as enforcers of decisions approved through governance. They do not have the ability to unilaterally allocate treasury funds and simply monitor the safety of the underlying assets controlled by the DAO. However, they have the power to create rapid improvement proposals without the need for due diligence. These proposals must also be voted on by the community for 3 days.
Treasury Proceeds
Koinos Garden Treasury grows through:
Koinos Garden's treasury generally receives 5 to 10% of the supply agreed with each financed project.
DeFi strategies (yield farming, liquidity support, lending...).
The increasing value of assets held in the treasury.
NFTs royalties.
Koinos burned in the DAO.
